SN75LVCP600S: We can't detect device we we use SN75LVCP600S.

Hi Sir

Customer use platform is Intel Skylake H. We can’t connection device when we use u20,u22(SN75LVCP600S). If we remove u20,u22. Then we can connect device.

May you have some suggestion can advise us?

Can you please provide a block diagram showing the overall connection?

Are they AC couple both the RX and TX?

Please check the definition of SATA-A+/- and SATA-B+/-. SATA-A+/- is TX and SATA-B+/- is RX, it looks like they have TX connected to TX and RX connected to RX in their schematic.

U100 U51 U70 U61 on Mother Board site,
U21 U19 U22 U20 on SSD Board site.

Our verify condition as below:
Condition 1: MB with U100 U51 U70 U61 and SSD Board with U19 U21 U22 U20 Function is OK.
Condition 2: MB with U100 U51 U70 U61 and SSD Board remove re-driver, Function is OK.
Condition 3: MB without re-driver and SSD with U21 U19 U22 U20, Funciton is Fail.

Condition 4: If you remove all the redrivers does the system fail?

If yes, the redrivers on the MB are the most important for system operation.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the feedback on this condition. I would try to probe the waveforms at the SSD to see how Condition 4 waveforms compare with the previous Condition 2 waveforms. It is likely there is improved margin using the SN74LVCP600. Based on the idea that the system can work without a redriver under "typical" conditions, I think cascading the redrivers would not ever be needed. In many cases cascading can have unforseen impacts on signal quality and is not recommended for most systems.
