DP83865: PHY failure at 1000 speed

I have inherited a design built around this PHY. 10/100 communication operates great, but at 1000 at least half of our products start exhibiting buffer errors and fail to communicate. This design is several years old and this has been a new issue recently. Have there been any known issues with this chip running at 1000 speed? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be happening and possible solutions? Any help is greatly appreciated.

There are no known issues with this.
Can you send me the marking on the top of this device?
Do you see an issue for all builds or a certain few?

The parts have the National logo followed by VM324ADE3. The second line is the p/n, DP83865DVH. These are all from the same build. This is the first build that has exhibited the issue. These are a low-volume product for us so we build 100 PCBAs at a time and they can last us well over a year.

Hi Ross,

Were you able to find out any additional information? Do you have any troubleshooting tips I can follow to see if I can get these faulty boards to operate? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
