TCA6416A: Cable Length

Hi team,

I'm an Analog FAE supporting some industrial customers in Japan.

  1. Does TCA6416A have ability to drive 3m cable w/o hang up under EMC noise condition?
    Or is I2C driver needed for above application?
  2. Is there SPI I/O Expander its # of port 9~16bit?

    This device is only an I/O expander. It will not help you to drive a signal through cable and by itself may not be able to handle a 3m cable on the receiving end.

    You will likely need an I2C buffer for this. Do you need any recommendations? What is your max frequency? Vcc range?

    To my knowledge, I do not think we (TI) have any I/O expanders that run off of the SPI protocol.
