Hi all,
Very new here to the USB Type C PD schemes, looking for some guidance on a design approach.
Our system has a phone (Samsung Galaxy S10) that will be running an app. We have another device with multiple peripherals on it (hub, display port, USB 3.1 high speed interface). Both need to be powered from an external battery, as the phone battery will not last long enough if it is powering the peripherals. As a bonus, it would be nice if, when we remove the external battery, the Galaxy S10 powers the peripherals until a new battery is installed.
I am trying to determine if using the TPS65987D as a means of handling power management to the S10 will let me accomplish this (or if my approach is just wrong).
A diagram of what I have described is below.
This approach has holes in it of course. Is there a simpler (standard) solution out there that i am unaware of?
Thank you!
