Linux/TUSB4020BI-Q1: Integration of Raspberry Pi and TUSB4020BI

Part Number: TUSB4020BI-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB4020BI, TPS2561

Tool/software: Linux

Hello Ti,

I am currently integrating the Raspberry Pi with USB by using TUSB4020Bi. I take reference from the EVM schematic but I don't see the PWRCTRL is enabled in my device (PWRCTRL_POL is pulled low -> active high).

What I can see is the voltage in OUT1 and OUT2 of TPS2561 is decreasing from 5V down to 0V.

Are there any constrains that needs to satisfy so that TUSB4020Bi can give a HIGH signal in PWRCTRL?

Thanks!

Ryan

  • Hi Ryan,

Is yyour FULLPWRMGMTz pin pulled high when reset is released? This is the first step. If this is the case the USB Host should send a port power command to the USB Hub to enable downstream port power. Normally this teh case when using a standard USB Host however i am not sure how the Rasberry PI will handle this.
