DS25BR120: What is Protects Adjoining?

Hello,

I think DS25BSR120 ESD protection will have diode at each pins. Pin to VCC and Pin to GND. Is it correct?

There is the description which is "7 kV ESD on LVDS I/O pins Protects Adjoining Components" in the datasheet. What is this?

Hi,

The DS25BR120 ESD is robust at 7kV. The datasheet was written to show that the DS25BR120 could buffer signals and provide ESD protection to more sensitive system components which are connected to the host system side of the device.

Hello Lee-san,

I understand as "Protects Adjoining Component" means DS25BR120 can protect the system side components too from ESD event.

Do we think ok esd structure is like a general ESD protection as below?

Hi,

The ESD solution is similar to the drawing you have posted. The diodes D1 and D3 in the picture are replaced by an ESD structure which is capable to support voltages > VDD.
