DP83869HM: 100Base-tx - 1000Base-T is not working

Hi Nguyen

The design is in 1000M media converter.

On the copper side 1) 1000Base-T - 1000Base-X is ok.

2) 100Base-tx - 1000Base-T is not working.

The PC can detect the 100Mbps connection but the link is down.

Hi Athur,

I'm not sure I understand your problem.

What are you trying to do with "100Base-tx - 1000Base-T"? The device can only link up in either 100Base-TX or 1000Base-T.

Because we do not know what the link partner is, maybe 1000Base-T or 100Base-Tx.

Base on the reason we need the cooper support 10/100/1000Mbps and optical is 1000Base-X.

Hi Athur,

1000 Mbps Media Converter is designed for 1000Base-T to 1000Base-X. Basically, the speed on both copper and fiber has to be 1000 Mbps.

See section 1.6 and 1.7 in this app note for more details about media converter mode.

Please refer to the app note http://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla318/snla318.pdf for supported operating modes of DP83869. In each mode, there is block diagram describing how to connect different interfaces of the PHY to other devices.
