DS90LV110T: LVPECL to LVDS

Part Number: DS90LV110T
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCLVP1216

Hello,

I would like you to confirm how I should connect LVPECL out and LVDS in.

* When I will use CDCLVP1216 with VCC=2.5V, can I connect DS90LV110(VCC=3.3) directly(of cource implement 100ohm between D+ and D-) ?

According to datasheet of DS90LV110, I understand that pull down resistors are required by referring "Typical LVPECL Driver DC-Coupled Interface to DS90LV110 Input".

However, In my case, VOD is less than VCM of DS90LV110, so I think that these pull down resistor can be removed. Finally, I assume DC coupling.

Best Regards,

  • Hello Machida-san,

    You should be able to connect CDCLVP1216 output directly to the input of DS90LV110 as shown in Figure 12 in the datasheet.

    Regarding the pull-down resistors, they are needed for the LVPECL driver itself to function properly (not for DS90LV110). If you still have doubts about the output termination for CDCLVP1216, please post a separate question specifically asking about that so that it will get routed to the people supporting that device.

    Regards,

    Yaser
