SN65CML100: 1.2V CML Driver

I would like to use this part to drive 1.2V CML line. Based on the data sheet and app note, i plan on using two 50 Ohm resistors as bias generators at the output of the chip, connected to 1.2VDC. Additionally, there will be two 50 ohm resistors terminating the line at the receiver, also connected to 1.2VDC.

The LVDS input will be terminated with 100 Ohms across the input lines.

Any thoughts on using this part as a 1.2V CML driver?

Hi Frank,

Why not just use a LVDS driver which is designed to drive with a 1.2V output common mode?

I would look at the DS10BR150.

Hello Lee,

I looked at the DS10BR150 again. It looks like it will receive 2.5V LVDS with no external termination. That is good. But i do not see where it is indicated that it will drive CML at 1.2V (with or without termination). The SY56216 (Micrel/Microchip) has two power supply pins, one for the input (2.5V LVDS) and one for the output (1.2V CML). Still looking for an alternative.
