DS15EA101 is an adaptive equalizer. Adaptation time is typically 5mS. Worst case adaptation time has not been characterized. Therefor typically for any part within 5mS we would see output signal from the time signal is applied.

It was not the answer that my customers expected.

For example, typ.45ps max.150ps.

Is there no such rule for the adaptive equalizer?

I would like to know what 5ms in the previous answer shows.

Greetings Kenji,

5ms Shows the time from a signal applied to the DS15EA101 input to when we would expect valid output data.

Please note data sheet specifies data transition time or rise/fall time on 100-ohm output in order of 220pS. 45ps or 145ps you have specified points to rise/fall time of the 100-ohm output.

.Looking at the DS25BR120 datasheet, “Part to Part Skew” is explained as follows.

”Part to Part Skew, is defined as the difference between the minimum and maximum specified differential propagation delays.”

Does DS15EA101 have specification?

Greetings Kenji,

DS25BR120 part to part skew refers to skew within positive and negative output of the DS25BR120 device. This normally shows itself as DCD or Duty Cycle Distortion or jitter.

On DS15EA101 this parameter is specified as total residual jitter. In data sheet, we have typical values for this parameter and you can add 30% to count for part to part variation, across temperature, and supply. However, this parameter has not been characterized over supply and temperature.
