TUSB8040: Type-C hub with display port support

Whose PCH do they plan to use in their notebook design? Would you please provide a block diagram so we can make the best recommendation?

It is Qualcomm PC, like the windows surface with the Qualcomm MicrosoftSQ1 CPU, it does not have PCH. The display port and USB3.0 directly from the CPU. Like Surface, it connected to a type c socket, but surface only have one type-c. My customer want to put two.

Please share a block diagram if you have one, it would make sure we are on the same level of understanding. 

My understanding is that the USB and DP are already muxed, and they are looking for a solution that can go from one Type-C port to two Type-C ports. 

1. Since DP can support 1, 2, or 4 lanes, you can NOT output DP to both Type-C ports with the same source since one Type-C port may request 4 lanes while the other port may request 2 lanes, the host can't handle the lane incompatibility.

2. TI does NOT have a 1:2 Type-C MUX solution. We will need multiple chips cascading to achieve the 1:2 solution.
