TPD6S300A: One TPD6S300A supports two type-c port

Part Number: TPD6S300A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD2S300

Hi,

We don't need D+/D-/SBU signals in our dual type-c port application.  Can we use one TPD6S300A to support totally 4 CC pins of two type-c port by making use the unused SBU signals?  Anything we should take care specifically for such case?

Thanks!

Antony

  • Hi Antony,

You cannot use one TPD6S300A for 4 CC pins. The SBU/DP/DM paths are designed specifically for the bandwidth of the signals and also do not contain dead battery resistors needed for the CC lines, and therefore cannot properly protect CC lines.

You can use two TPD2S300 if you only want CC line protection.

    Thanks,

    Emma
