AM26C31: AM26C32 interface

Part Number: AM26C31
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM26C32

I would like to know if we can feed negative voltage to AM26C32. The data sheet says common mode voltage can be -7V to +7V applied to 26C32. Does that mean any one of the inputs can go to a voltage less that it's ground pin voltage. Will it not trigger protection diodes?

The main question is that is it allowed to feed a negative voltage at any one of the input.

  • Hi Pradeesh,

Your interpretation of the common mode range is correct - the device should be able to function with input voltages within this range.  To avoid triggering any protection circuits or causing damage, please make sure to keep signals within the "absolute maximum" rated voltage range of -11 V to +14 V.

If you have any further questions please just let us know.

    Regards,
    Max

  • Dear Max,

    Thanks for the quick reply.
