TUSB217-Q1: Using 2pcs TUSB217-Q1 for AOC application...

Dear Sirs,

My customer application is TypeC to TypeA USB AOC cable and as their design, they used 2pcs TUSB217 in both side!

Their AOC cable will have 10m, 15m and 20m and have USB2.0 and USB3.0 signal inside.

The TUSB217 only take care USB2.0 signal.

I am not sure if use 2pcs TUSB217 is OK or not?

Please give me some advice.

    Hi Peter,

    Customer will probably have a better time using TUSB216 at 10m and maybe even 15m. 20m with two TUSB216 may not be workable only at the ends of the cable (depends on cable quality). TUSB217 may be able handle 10m depending on cable quality but not sure about 15m or 20m. 

    What is the customer using for USB 3.0 redriver solution? TUSB1002A may be workable at 10m depending on signal quality. 15m and 20m may not be workable for USB 3.0 signals without a retimer solution.
