AM26C31-EP: differential input

Team,

Reviewing AM26C31-EP datasheet and the absolute maximum rate ( below screenshot). There is no differential input to this chipset , it is a driver chipset so am I missing something here?

Also there is no ESD table for this part like SN65LBC174A-EP.

Michael,

You're correct. AM26C31-EP is a quadruple line driver device, which can be paired with AM26C32 in applications. Since the device was released a while ago, it doesn't go through any ESD test programs therefore there is no ESD information on the datasheet. Please let me know if you have more questions about this device.

The customer team has been concerned about Absolute Maximums for their internal EMI Analysis. The Absolute Maximums in the datasheet show +14V to -14V differentially on the input and -0.5V to +7V at the output.

Through the team's experience this looks different for a Differential Driver chip.

There is no differential on the input.. should the robustness should be on the outputs?

can you confirm this is correctly spec'd

I'm sorry for the confusion. Please ignore the -14V to 14V input voltage. The output's abs max is -0.5V to 7V, which is indeed not as wide as many 1T/1R RS-485.
