Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65176B, DS90LV019
Hi TI team,
My customer want to use RS422 or RS485 communication with SN65LVDS049 between SN65176B.
Is there any compatibility problem?
Please check it.
Thanks!
Downey Kim.

Hi Downey,
There are a few interface issues with this idea on the RS422/RS485 differential interface (A/B pins).
1. The LV049 inputs are recommended to receive a much smaller signal amplitude than the SN65176B A/B pins provide.
2. The LV049 outputs do not have enough amplitude to drive the SN65176B A/B inputs require
3. The SN65176B is based on a 5V power supply and the LVDS049 is just a 3.3V supply.
If you are interfacing to the R and D pins on the SN65176B I would recommend using a 5V LVDS device to make the interface easier.
One option is the DS90LV019.
Regards,
Lee
