DP83867ERGZ-R-EVM: No signal except channel A-1000M comformance testing using DP83867ERGZ-R-EVM as IUT

Part Number: DP83867ERGZ-R-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB-2-MDIO

Dear hi-tech fellows,

We are using the DP83867ERGZ-R-EVM as an Instrument under testing (IUT) for 1000M ethernet conformance testing.

BUT ONLY get signal from A channel,  NO signals from B,C,D channels. (no matter in mode 1, 2, 3, 4)

Referencing "How to Configure DP838XX for Ethernet Compliance testing",

with USB-2-MDIO (a TI tool),we  put REGISTER 0025 = 0x0480 ,then read,  it shows 0000!

read REGISTER 0025 = 0x0000

We are not sure if there is something wrong with this REGISTER.

Other REGISTER such as  REGISTER 0009= 0x3B00 is OK!

We are looking forward to your reply!

Sincerely , Mu

  • Hello,

Thank you for submitting your question. Can you please try other registers besides reg0x9?

Can you try reading registers 0x0 to 0x9 as well?

    Thanks,

    Cecilia

  • hi, Cecilia,

    Thank you for your reply!

other registers besides reg0x9 are shown in the following pictures (mode1,2,3,4).

    mode1:

  • Hi Mu,

Can you try writing to the registers again by selected 'Yes' to the extended registers?

    Thanks,

    Cecilia

  • Hi Mu,

there comes no Signal on B,C,D because the register isn't set correct,

Register 0x0025 is a extended register, so the communication is a little bit more complicated.

The datasheet decribes it in :8.4.2.1ExtendedAddressSpaceAccess

I don't have the software USB-2-MDIO bis please check, that if you want to write to an extended register like 0x25 the Dropdown "Extended Register" is yes.
