DS90UB914Q-Q1: Des-Ser 913/914

Part Number: DS90UB914Q-Q1

Hi Jiashow,

Regarding your answer to Harry's question, you mentioned " serializer will establish link using the internal osc". I am a bit confused here: on datasheet, the serializer 913 only has two mode about its clock: PCLK or External osc, although it has PLL.

I do not see "internal osc". please be more specific and further detailed about this to be clear?

Thanks

Tom

  • Hello Tom,

In the absence of PCLK or external oscillator input the 913/914 pair will establish a link using the internal oscillator of 913 which allows the two devices to communicate across the link using the bidirectional control channel. You can access registers within the SER/DES via I2C, or talk to remote I2C slaves. However this mode can not transport any video. In order to pass video data either PCLK from imager or external oscillator mode must be used.

    Best Regards,

    Casey
