Hi,

I'd like to ask you about the maximum AC coupling capacitor value of HD3SS3411. My customer wants to know that to apply the capacitor on red box(1) position of attached file, even though it says that AC coupling is not needed on both sides of the device on previous post. Please refer to the attached file and let me know it.

it depends on what is your application,

for sata, it normally 10ns.

for usb or PCIe, it's 75nf to 220nf.

Hi Brain,

Thanks for your support. I think that 10ns is a typo. Is 10nF correct? In case of SATA application, what is the maximum capacitor value? Please let me know.

yes, it's nF. Max for Sata is 12nf.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your kind response. Also there was a damage issue on Bp(Pin 13) repeatedly, and TI's failure analysis result was EOS damage. They had already applied an ESD protection diode on Bp, but there is no improvement. So they are considering to apply the coupling capacitor on Bp. Can it effect on a damage issue? Is there any other solution to resolve this issue?
