TSB82AA2B: minimize jitter

Part Number: TSB82AA2B

Hello Guys,

Good day.

Our customer is using the multi-function (pin 1) to synchronize their 8 KHz to their 1393 network. However, when they attempt to use pin 1 as an output for synchronization, the jitter on that signal is preventing them from using it.

Is there a way via IC setup to minimize the jitter on the pin 1 for 8 KHz output?
They are using the 1394 bus as their audio transport bus among the terminals.

Another related question:

If after each bus reset, he CLEAR bit 21 of the Link control register of the TSB82AA2B link controller, will that prevent that node from becoming the root node on the 1394 bus and allow them to accept synchronization from another node?
Please elaborate on what he can and cannot do with bit 21 of the TSB82AA2B link control register. They are looking for ways to PREVENT certain nodes from becoming the root node.

Thanks in advance!
