Hi Danny-san
From following session.
TCA9535: Leakage current to Vcc (at Vcc=0V, SCL/SDA=5V) - Interface forum - Interface - TI E2E support...
Customer have additional question.
Which is correct?
1: "SCL/SDA don't have any path to Vcc".
or
2: "SCL/SDA have the path to Vcc, but IC can accept leakage current for IC damage"
Thanks
Muk
Muk-san,
Good to hear from you, and thanks for following up!
The device should remain high-impedance when unpowered (VCC = 0) even if there is a pull-up or pull-down to a power/GND rail on SCL/SDA. You shouldn’t expect to see any high leakage current unless the SCL/SDA pins are pulled below GND or above VCC, in which case some body diodes may begin reverse breakdown or it may start to power an ESD cell.
Best,
Danny
