Hi Team,

Our customer has a question concerning the IOS parameter of SN65LVDS180-Q1. Does the device have a protection circuitry that allows its differential outputs to be shorted indefinitely? If not, how long can the outputs be shorted?

Also, what is the difference between IOS for VOY&VOZ and IOS for VOD?

    Hi Jejomar,

    This device does not have protection circuitry on its output. However, the nature of its current-mode output enable the outputs to be shorted indefinitely with the output current limited to +/- 10ma and no damage taken.

    IOS for VOY&VOZ is when they are shorted to GND, while IOS for VOD is when they are shorted together.
