DS90UB953-Q1EVM: questions about DS90UB953-Q1 clocking modes

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1EVM

Hi team,

1. When configure DS953 clocking mode as Synchronous Mode or Non-Synchronous CLK_IN Mode,  is it necessary to use CLK_OUT as sensor reference clock? is there any risk if using Synchronous Mode or Non-Synchronous CLK_IN Mode for DS953, while employ an independent external oscillator for sensor?

2. is there another clocking mode for DS953 that extract from CSI-2 signal, namely from sensor? if yes, how to configure DS953 for this mode? since I can't find it in mode pin description.

  • terry,

    pls check below comments.

TI: if the CLK_out is used for sensor or not is dependent on your system design, ub953 can have clk_out when it works at sync. and external XO mode. 953 can support the application that it works at sync. / non-sync mode and sensor works at the other clock, it has no any issue and this is 953's basic function.

    2. is there another clocking mode for DS953 that extract from CSI-2 signal, namely from sensor? if yes, how to configure DS953 for this mode? since I can't find it in mode pin description.

TI: it is not recommended since sensor's csi2 clock output is very dirty generally.
