DS110DF410: some questions about DS110F410

Part Number: DS110DF410

1. Is automatic data rate identification supported or must be configured?

2.The circuit topology we use is shown in the figure below. So we could use it in master mode or slave mode.

My question is ,are there any temporal constraints?

  • Hi Gabriel,

1). Device has a default data rate and must be configured for other non-default data rates.

2). Typically after a data rate change or settings, it is advised to reset the CDR. Therefor the user has to initiate the new configuration so it would go into effect properly..

    Regards,, Nasser

  • Thanks for your reply.

Next to the above reply, I have two questions to ask

    1. what is the the specific value of default data rate?

2.How long does it usually take to configure registers through ROM or FPGA?

  • Hi Gabriel,

    1) By default, the DS110DF410 should lock to data rates of 1.25Gbps or 10.3125Gbps.  Table 2 in the datasheet contains some application specific data rates that can easily be configured.

    2) It should not take too long to configure registers through EEPROM or SMBus.  Example programming sequences can be found in the programming guide.  Section 2.4 provides example sequences.  Please note that the programming guide covers multiple devices, so it may be necessary to change some values in example sequences to correspond to the DS110DF410.
