LMH0202: Unused pins treatment for SDI2, SDO2, SDO1(N) and VCC2

Part Number: LMH0202
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0302

Hi team,

The customer considers LMH0202 is used for 1 port HD-SDI output with BNC cable. He understands SDO1(N) should be terminated with 75Ohm by reading previous e2e thread. Could you give me comment on how to treat SDI2, SDO2, and VCC2(Rref2) when those pins are unused?

Best regards,

Takeshi Sasaki

  • Hi Sasaki-San,

It seems in this application we need just a single cable driver output. One thought is that perhaps LMH0302 maybe more suited for this application. Please refer to this part's data sheet for more details.

But perhaps for some reason LMH0202 is preferred. In this case, un-used SDI input pins should be AC coupled 1.0uF Caps and 49.9-ohm Resistors to GND. Similarly, SDO2 should be pulled to VCC through 75-ohm Resistors, AC coupled 4.7uF Caps, and 75-ohm to GND. We should treat Rref2 same as Rref1 - 750-ohm R to VCC.

    Regards,, Nasser
