TUSB211-Q1: How to open left side of eye pattern

Hello team,

I got a question from customer about eye-pattern.

Currently their system's configuration is SOC - TPS2549-Q1 - Connector.

In the configuration, they measured below eye pattern. They worried about the left side of eye pattern have slow slew rate. They want to open the eye pattern.

I think one of the idea is using redriver. But from customer's comment, TUSB211-Q1 didn't improve the waveform so much.

Q. Do you have any know-how to use TUSB211-Q1 effectively? or do you have more appropriate device for this use case?

Q. Do you have any idea other than using redriver?

    Hi Yuta-san,

    A USB 2 redriver like TUSB211-Q1 should be used here. When the customer says the eye did not improve, did they observe some change in the waveform? Or was the waveform unchanged comparing TUSB211-Q1 enabled vs. TUSB211-Q1 disabled/removed? TUSB212-Q1 has greater redriving capability than TUSB211-Q1 and should be considered here.

    During testing, customer should be sure to follow the steps listed in section 8.2.2 Detailed Design Procedure of the TUSB211-Q1 datasheet. Changing these steps may result in TUSB211-Q1 from entering an incorrect state.
