Hey team,

Just a quick question that came up - do we have any collateral that goes over the differences between FPD-Link II / III? I assume they still use the same cable connection / length? Do we recommend III for new designs rather than II?

    Hi Cameron,

    No, we dont have collaterals that goes over the difference between FPD-Link II and III. 

    There's differences in cable and length for different FPD-Link II VS III devices. Do you have a specific FPD-Link II device you are comparing with? 

    The DS90UB662 you have listed has no FPD-Link II replacement so you would have to go with FPD-Link III.

    Hey Charley,

    Thanks for the quick reply - I appreciate it! The customer understands the color depth / pixel clock frequency difference but was curious what the other difference in features are / needs to be aware of. Does FPD-link III have an adaptive equalizer while FPD-Link II does not?

    With regards to the part - I placed that one prior to knowing exactly what parts the customer was looking at; let me know if I should remake the question.

    For UB90x vs UR90x, the FPD-Link III devices offer Bidirectional control channel communication.

    For the 92x devices, they have enhanced EQ on the deserializer and can accept higher clock frequency.
