DS90UB941AS-Q1: This serialize(DSI to FPD-Link III) , When paired with De-Serializer DS90UB940N(FPD-Link III to MIPI CSI-2).How the Data is converting DSI to MIPI-CSI-2

Hello,

We have used Serializer - DS90UB953ATRHBTQ1(Which is paired with DS90UB954-Q1)) in our design. Due to non- stock of DS90UB953ATRHBTQ1 part,  We are planing to changing the design to serializer DS90UB940NTNKDTQ1 (DSI to FPD-Link III) and this paired with De-Serializer DS90UB940N(FPD-Link III to MIPI CSI-2). In this need clarification of, the DS90UB940NTNKDTQ1  datasheet says page number 1 (application diagram), The serializer input is DSI and De-Serializer out is MIPI-CSI-2. The question is how its converting DSI data to CSI data?Please helpful us with providing the application note or application diagram for this solution.

And also please suggest us part with, Serializer input MIPI-CSI-2 and De-Serializer output with MIPI-CSI-2 or Serializer input MIPI-DSI and De-Serializer  output with MIPI-CSI-2.

    Hi Gajendiran,

    The 941 will take in DSI data packets and extra the video data (RGB or YUV), and the video data is then converted to CSI format by the 940. 

    The 941AS paired with 940N can support DSI input to CSI output. 

    For CSI input Serializers, you would need to pick from DS90UB935, DS90UB953, and DS90UB953A and pair them with DS90UB954 or DS90UB960 for CSI output.

    For the more clarification please confirm below Our application diagram. Actually Serializer input interface is MIPI-DSI & output interface is FPD link III and Desrializer input interface is FPD link III & Output interface is MIPI-CSI-2. Serializer and De-Serializer are connected with FPD link III interface.

    Please confirm using below application diagram the MIPI-DSI(Serializer input interface) to MIPI-CSI-2(De-Serializer output interface) format can be converted?
