SN65DSI83EVM: I2C SDA Line held low

Part Number: SN65DSI83EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65DSI83

Hi,

On our SN65DSI83EVM, the net I2C_SDA stays low at 0.35V, even when there is no I2C traffic passing through.

We set I2C_3V3EN = LOW and I2C _SDA still stays low. However I2C_SDA_3P3V is high. All other connections to I2C_SDA were disconnected (i.e. from J1, J4, J12) so that was no interference from them. Below is our truth table:

SW2-2 I2C_3V3EN J10-3 (3V3SDA) J12-2(1v8SDA)
ON LOW 3.28V 0.05V
OFF HIGH 0.35V 0.31V

C11 measures 1.18V, so we know that internal Vcore regulator is still working. Even when the reset button SW1 was pressed making BOARD_RESETN low, the I2C_SDA is still low. Therefore it seems as if the SN65DSI83 is holding the I2C_SDA line low for some reason.

Please let me know what the issue is with this EVM? Is there any way of making the SN65DSI83 chip release the I2C_SDA line so that we can communicate to it normally?

Thank you very much in advance, your assistance is much appreciated

Kind regards
