SN65HVS885: SN65HVS885 - REx pins terminate to GND

Part Number: SN65HVS885

I cannot find information on whether to terminate REx connection for LED output or left unconnected if I dont want to drive LEDs using REx pins of HVS885.

Do I need to reconsider my RLIM value if I terminate REx output to GND?

Regards

  • Hi Hari,

    From the eq. input schematic:

The REx path can be left floating or terminated as it is there to show input status using LED's. The LED itself doesn't do any thing specifically and can be left floating in lower frequency applications, but it can also be terminated. This shouldn't effect calculation of R_LIM as this calculation doesn't include LED specifics or current flowing through the return path.

If you have any other questions please let me know!

    Best,

    Parker Dodson
