DP83825I: How does DP83825i generate the eye pattern for test?

Hi,

My customer use DP83825i to implement the Ethernet interface, and are now measuring the eye diagram of Ethernet 10BASE-T signaling.

We refer to the data sheet of DP83825i, expect to be able to generate the waveform below through the following two Reg settings.Reg16-BISCR; Reg27- COMPT

But now we cannot use DP83825i to generate the required test waveforms.

Can you provide us with relevant specifications or test scripts?

I refer to the setting of Page 12 of snla239a.pdf, but I have a question:

As shown in Figure 1: Reg 0x0016 = 0x0020 //programs DUT to Phy Loop-Back

But I understand the definition of Reg16 from the datasheet of DP83825i (Figure 2)

The 0x20 setting is set to bit5-RESERVED.

Is this correct?

It looks like bit6 is the loopback bit in the 825!
