DP83848Q-Q1: TD-/TD+ output short to GND, Vcc and short to each other

 Hi team,

My customer has following questions about DP83848Q-Q1 TD-/TD+ outoput short to GND, Vcc and
short to each other.

(1) When these short occured, does DP83848Q receive reliability damage?

(2) If DP83848 doesn't receive reability damege and the short circuit is over, can DP83848
     retuen to normal operation?

(3) If DP83848 can retuen to normal operation, how is it done?
     Aoutomaticaly or performing Reset or etc.

Please let me know the answer.

    HI Fumio,

    (1) When these short occured, does DP83848Q receive reliability damage?
    The DP83848Q should not receive reliability damage if the short to voltage is less than the abs max specified for the MDI pins. See the datasheet's absolute maximum ratings.

    (2) If DP83848 doesn't receive reability damege and the short circuit is over, can DP83848
    retuen to normal operation?
    Yes.

    (3) If DP83848 can retuen to normal operation, how is it done?
    Aoutomaticaly or performing Reset or etc.
    A reset of the PHY using the RESET pin should be performed.
