  • Hi Savra,

Assuming you'll be using higher speeds with the optical cable, the THVD1552 that can operate up to 50Mbps is a good choice. Is this within the datarate range your intending to operate? Also, what is the cable length that will be used for the RS-485 portion of the signal? This may greatly impact the speeds you can use.

The THVD1552 is a full-duplex device with independent driver and receiver lines. If your application only requires a half-duplex option, the THVD1550 would be able to handle the same speeds. Alternatively, for lower speed options, the THVD1512 (full-duplex) operates at 500kbps and THVD1500 (half-duplex) operates at 300kbps.

I'm not familiar with the SN65ELT22 part. Would you like me to loop in someone from our Logic Forum to take a look?

Let me know if this helps.

    Regards,
    Eric
