TMDS181: Using hardware control in TMDS181 to test eye diagram fail.

Part Number: TMDS181

Hi team,

I using TMDS181 have problems in doing HDMI certification.

                 test result as below:

The former is the result of hardware control and the latter is the result of software control.
There are obvious differences. Now there are problems in  HDMI certification. I don't know where there are differences.

Now the problem is that there is a problem with eye diagram in hardware control.
In software control, eye diagram OK but it can't pass 2 items of 1-1 and 1-4 fold. In hardware control, 1-1 and 1-4 items are OK.

the HDMI 1-1 and 1-4 test items as below:

the circuit as below:

need help to solve this issue.

thanks,

Would you please share the test report between the hardware and software control? Please also dump out all registers during software control.

One possibility is the TX_TERM_CTL, TX_TERM_CTL is floating during hardware control but no termination during software control. So you can change the termination and see if it makes a difference.

Software does offer more fine tuning than hardware control, in order to match the result between the two, we will have to go through the setting of each register.

    Thanks
