Part Number: DP83848I-POE-EK
Hi Team,
My customer is using DP83848N (Not in Ti.com, while I am trying to reach out you through DP83848I-POE-EK) with PoE. when they plug the network cable, overshoots occur in IC's pins (TD-/TD+/RD-/RD+) as the figure shown below (10.6V volts).
I want to make sure that it is risky or not? Because this overshoot exceed the limit in the datasheet . In addition, do you have some suggestions to lower down the overshoot?
The sch are also shown below.
Thanks a lot.
Best regards,
Yang
Hi Yang,
The DP83848 POE EK schematic is posted on this E2E thread: https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/f/138/p/689022/2548055#2548055?jktype=e2e
Can you ask customer to check if the schematic recommendations are followed. The PHY MDI pins should not have 10.6V present at any time.
