TCAN1042GV-Q1: Some questions about WAKE capability and CAN-FD

Hi,

 

We received some questions from customers regarding the capability to support features as listed below from TCAN1042GVDRBRQ1.  Can you provide your comments accordingly?

(1) AICM wake capabilities

-        CAN wake or DI wake.

(2)Insure CAN-FD capability on CAN ports.

-        Protect for CAN-FD AICM on single Chassis CAN and have Safety Aurix take over of steering and brake control in case of VICM failure.

    Anthony,

    1. The TCAN1042 can support CAN bus wake up, once a valid wake up is received on the CAN bus, the RXD pin toggles, alreting the controller to set the STB pin to high, putting the device back into normal mode. I'm not sure what DI wake is, but CAN bus wake up is the only wake source supported on this transceiver.
    2. Yes, the TCAN1042 will support CAN FD datarates.
