TL16C754C: Compare to CP2108

Part Number: TL16C754C

Dear Team,

Currently, the customer is using CP2108 for USB to UART 4 output application.

I find TL16C754C, but not sure this one is suitable here or not.

Can you check on which one is suitable to compare with CP2108 ?

It will be highly appreciated if you can also provide the comparison table between the device you suggest compare to CP2108 .

  • Hey Kevin,

Our UART devices like the one you mentioned are actually meant for parallel interfaces into serial (uart). The silicon labs device is USB to UART which is something we do not have. That means the TL16c754C is not a suitable device, typically our devices pair with legacy processors which send data out in parallel and need to be changed into serial (or vice versa). Because your customer is using a device with USB, I don't think they would want to use a parallel interface due to its inefficiency (requires a lot of I/Os to use.)
