TCA9539: how did you test standby mode ICC in datasheet?

Hi,

Here is the datasheet shows ICC:

customer's test result is much higher that that, see 40uA, even 270uA.

their test process is as: before MCU's standby, the set TCA9539's IO as input. as datasheet described, IO should be hi-Z input. then cut off IIC. test ICC by current meter at PIN24 Vcc.

is that same as you did? why it's so different? thank you!

  • Hello Yuan,

    The test procedure for the specification is similar to what you've described.  However, note that for this test the inputs are pulled to either GND or VCC.  If the inputs are at an intermediate voltage rather than at these defined high/low states then the ICC can be higher.  Could you check to make sure the customer is pulling these pins high or low?
