Part Number: HD3SS3220
Hi team,
When my customer did a USB-C functional test for HD3SS3220, TD 4.1.2 Unpowered CC voltage test failed.
The reason of fail is that CC voltage is out of vOPEN range when Rp is applied to CC pin in the condition of IC power off.
Could you tell me the behavior of CC pin when IC's power is off?
Regards,
Saito
When power is off, device maybe in dead battery mode. with UFP, CC pin with Rd 5.1k. Cable connected and providing charging.
In reply to Brian Zhou:
Hi Brian-san,
I understood HD3SS3220 enters the dead battery mode when VDD_5V is not supplied.
Can HD3SS3220 disable the dead battery function? If not, does customer need to use an external analog switch not to show Rd on CC pins?
In reply to Takahiro Saito:
You need to toggle ENn_mux pin when power is up to exit dead battery mode
Is there no way to disable the dead battery mode before power up?
before power up, you can not disable dead battery mode
Thanks. I understood there is no way to disable the dead battery mode before power up.
Customer will use an analog switch on CC pin not to show Rd = 5.1kohm to DFP side.
