Hi,
Is there a way to recognize via SW which device (TPS65986 or TPS65982) has been placed on the board?

Hi Arto,
What software are you referring to? Can you describe your setup?
Thanks,
Emma
Hi Emma,
No specific software. This concerns a case where TPS65986 is planned to be replaced with TPS65982, so is it possible to detect via 12C or by any other mean (without visual package inspection) whether the device on the board is TPS65986 or TPS65982?

Hi Arto,
I am consulting with the team and will get back to you in a few days.
Thanks,
Emma
Hi Arto,
I am double checking but there is register 0x2F, which will tell you the firmware and hardware on the board. The firmware will be the same on both chips, but the hardware should be different. Are you able to check this register from your side and confirm you can read the hardware differences?
Thanks,
Emma
