Replacement of SN75121 (SN75124)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN75121, SN75124, SN75123

Hello,

according to the datasheet of the SN75121 (SLLS074C) the part is 'Not recommended for new design'.

So, my question is which is the replacement part for it?

Does the same apply to the SN75124? Is this part going to be absolete?

BR,

    Andreas

  • Hi Andreas,

I think that it is not very clear in the datasheet but there are package options of the device that are still available.

It you look at the product page (link), or page 7 of the datasheet (link) you will see that there are still five packages available to order. The SO-16 and PDIP-16 variants are still orderable.

Please let me know if you have any questions, sorry for the confusion.

    Thanks,

    John

  • Andreas,

We do not plan to obsolete any products. If we have no sales for 3 or more years, we retire the product.  This will not get an obsolescence PCN.

I believe the 75121 was set to NRND because the 75122 Receiver was already obsolete. I suggest considering the SN75123/SN75124 combination for new designs.
