ISOW7742: can ISO7742W support power other than itself

Part Number: ISOW7742
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7742, ISOW7741

Hi team,

I want to replace ADUM5000, so I am thinking about using ISO"W"7742 that with integrated power supply

1.  Is the ISOW7742 integrated power designed to supply other devices other than itself?
I hope to use one or two ISOW7742 to replace ISO7742, so I don't have to use the isolated power module like ADUM5000.

if yes, would you help calculate how much ISOW7742 I need to supply all the device power?

spec is below

3.3V to 3.3V

Rs232 (1Mbps)

  • Hi Fred,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The DC/DC converter in ISOW7742 supports an output load current of upto 110mA at its output pin VISOOUT. Any load upto 110mA can be connected VISOOUT and the device will work fine. Please note that VIO and VISOIN also need to be powered for the device ISOW7742 to work.

Please see below an application diagram from datasheet that shows ISOW7741 powering the digital isolation channels and ADC.
