ISO7041-Q1: 300ohm series resistor

Part Number: ISO7041-Q1

Hi Expert,

Customer want to use ISO7041QDBQRQ1 for LIN communication isolation. See the block diagram as below.

Do we must need to add a 300Ω series resistor in our LIN isolation application? What is the purpose of 300ohm series resistor here?

Thanks!

  • Hi Ethan,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The 300Ω series resistor is recommended to limit the current into device especially when device is accidentally operated by applying signal to INx pins while its VCC pin is not powered. If you do not see such a situation in the LIN application, then the 300Ω can be considered optional. Let me know if you have any other questions, thanks.
