ISOUSB211: schematic review

Part Number: ISOUSB211
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISOUSB111

Hello!

We are currently creating a design around ISOUSB211 and ISOUSB111 but cannot get the devices to work. As others have requested, it would be nice if you can review our schematic to check if we have done something wrong. Would this be possible?

Kind regards
Andreas

  • Hello Andreas,

Yes, we can check your schematic. However, you can also provide a detailed description of the problem and we can try to provide recommendations to help you debug the issue. Please share the schematic and layout, if possible, as well as any scope captures of the issue or any ideas you have on the issue so far.

One of our team members will review on your response.

    Best,
    Andrew

  • Hello Andrew,

how can I send you the files? I would prefer to not share it publicly if possible.

The issue is as follows: when connecting a USB cable to the device (it's bus-powered), I can observe a current draw of around 40 mA, which seems to be apppropriate when comparing to the datasheet (the secondary side is also supplied via VBUS, but via an isolated power supply). The V2OK signal on the primary side is connected to an LED and it's lighting up. However, it seems to be unstable as no USB communication takes place whatsoever (verified with a protocol analyzer). There are no packets sent. The LED flickers from time to time, indicating that there might be an issue with the power supply, but I am not sure. Therefore I think it might be a good starting point to check if there's something wrong with how I designed it.

    Kind regards
    Andreas

  • Hello Andreas,

You can either share the schematic using the messaging function or I can reach out to you over the email listed on your account.
