ISO3086T: About isolation is not require circuit

Part Number: ISO3086T

Hi,

Customer wants to use ISO with non-isolation circuit for parts share.
Could you give me any advice on the following?

1.Can the circuit described below be realized?
Customer is trying to share VDD1/2 and GND1/2.
And the transformer is not implemented.

2.If this usage is acceptable, Please advice the points to note.

Best Regards,
Yusuke

  • Hi Yusuke,

Thanks for using our e2e forum.

Yes the usage is conceptually acceptable.

We are fully bypassing the isolation boundary here, but that is intentional, so that is fine.

The green frame is not implemented, so the transformer and LDO and every thing else in the green box can be left out.

The D1 and D2 pins are low-side open drain outputs that are switched internally, but can be left floating/open.

Please sure be sure to have good decoupling caps between the supply and ground pins.

The rest of the data communications should still be normal .  Gentle reminder that these data lines are (intentionally) non-isolated.

Ps:  today is a local holiday (us Labor Day ), so while we think this should take care of your issue, our team will still be here  tomorrow onwards for any follow-up questions the rest of the week.

    Regards,

    Abhi
