SN74AHCT244-EP: SN74AHCT244DW thermal resistance

the datasheet for SN74AHCT244DW shows thermal resistance as 83 C/W for DW package 20 pin in table 7.4. the datasheet in SN74AHCT244MDWREP shows thermo resistance as 58 C/W for DM package.

I would think they would be the same. can you tell me if I misunderstood something or are that different , and if so why?

The functionality is the same, but there are packaging differences (see the rightmost column in the "ordering & quality" table).

Hi Tim,

The EP datasheet is an older datasheet. Although it's the same package the two devices will have die differences which may change up the values. The SN74AHCT244DW may be the more accurate value as we using a more modern simulation model to test data.
