SN74AHC14-EP: Need the VOL max information at -40°C to +85°C for SN74AHC14-EP and SN74AHC14Q-Q1

Part Number: SN74AHC14-EP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AHC14Q-Q1, SN74AHC14

Hi,

I'm trying to choose an alternative for one of the existing component in our designs. The existing component supports only -40°C to +85°C. I am considering SN74AHC14-EP or SN74AHC14Q-Q1 as an alternate.

The datasheet for SN74AHC14 mentions the VOL max data for -40°C to +85°C as 0.44V and -40°C to +125°C as 0.5V.

But the datasheets for SN74AHC14-EP and SN74AHC14Q-Q1 mention the VOL max only for -40°C to +125°C.

Since the SN74AHC14-EP and SN74AHC14Q-Q1 are enhanced products of SN74AHC14, do they have VOL max limited to 0.44V at -40°C to +85°C even though this temperature range specifically not mentioned in the datasheets? Could you please confirm?

Thank you,

Komal Charan Garlapati.

  • Hi Komal,

Since the EP and Q1 parts are only tested from -40°C to +125°C, we can only guarantee the max VOL  in the datasheet for the range tested. Keep in mind these are the worst case values so the device will often output a lower voltage than the maximum VOL listed.

    Regards,
