SN74HC244: Datasheet Thermal Resistance Value increased from Revision E to Revision F

Part Number: SN74HC244

Dear Specialists,

My customer is using SN74HC244 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

According to the Datasheet, thermal resistance is increased Revision E to Revision F.

Could it possible to think the process of obtaining thermals has improved, the thermal performance for this device is the same, not improved.

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi,

That is correct all electrical characteristics, materials, and manufacturing are the same. It is simply that TI now uses an improved thermal model that more accurately calculates thermal impedance values.

    Regards,

    Owen

  • Hi Owen,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand SN74HC244 has no changes in electrical characteristics, materials, or processes, only the thermal model has been changed.

I’ll share this information with the customer.

I appreciate your great help and cooperation.

    Best regards,

    Shinichi
