Hi Team

We are using PN: TXS0108EQPWRQ1 level translator for UART interface and found that this part is working only upto115200 baud rate if we change the baud rate to 3Mbps it does not work.

Why is it so? the datasheet says it can support up to 110Mbps(push-pull). Then why is it not working with 3Mbps? Please suggest.

We choose this PN: TXS0108EQPWRQ1 because we need a level translator with a temperature grade of -45 to +125degree Celcius

The TXS supports 110 Mbps only when you're actually using push/pull signals, and at the highes voltage.

How many signals are there, in each direction? The TXU0204 would be a better solution.

UART interface is Push-pull type right? we are connecting 1.8V on A-side(MCU) and 3.3V on B-side(Device) still it does not work above the 115200 baud rate why?

we are having four signal TX,RX,CTS,RTS

Why are you using an eight-channel device for four channels?

The TXS is a passive switch. It's possible that you have long traces, connectors, or cables, which create a load that is too large.

Better use the TXU0204.

Bcz we have other signals on the board which we are level translating and we used the TXS there, to keep BOM simple we used the same TXS on UART as well. As the TXS datasheet mentioned it can support up to 110Mbps we though we can use it. But it is working only till 110Kbps

The TXS supports high speeds only with pull/push driving and when you observe the limitations mentioned in section 9.3.3 of the datasheet.

Better use the TXU0204.
