TXB0102: Open Output

Part Number: TXB0102
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXU0102, TXU0202

Hi,

Please confirm the inquiry from the customer.

Q1 If the B port is open while a signal is being input to the A port, will there be any effect on the A port?
Also, could the device be damaged?

Q2 In the same situation as above, if OE is LOW, is there any damage to the device due to the B port being open?

As far as I can see from the data sheet, this device has a buffer output, so it seems that there is no problem even if it is OPEN.
Is it Correct?

On the other hand, the datasheet also states:

"In a DC state, the output drivers of the TXB0102 can maintain a high or low, but are designed to be weak, so that the drivers can be overdriven
by an external driver when data on the bus tarts flowing the opposite direction."

I'm worried about unintentionally reversing the direction when the B port is open.

Best regards,
Hiroshi

  • Yes, unused outputs can be left open.

The TXB does not detect the direction, and has no direction. It is always bidirectional; the input and output buffers on both sides are always active.

For unidirectional signals, consider the TXU0102/TXU0202 instead.
